Default Smithville 06/17/23 Still Lots of Shorts but.......

I also caught a white bass but finally managed a limit and then some.

I bet I caught no less than 30 short fish, lost track a few times but was over 27 in my head. I guess I should have gotten out the clicker. I could have caught 100+ 7 to 8 in fish. I even caught one not fishing but looking at my phone with my rod under my armpit.

I kept moving and finally found a spot where the nice ones were hungry and more plentiful so I moved around that area and started filling the well. Caught 20 ish keepers and brought home 15. some good fish but threw back a few right at 9.

Fish in 8 to 9 fow near the bottom.

Looks good. Great time to take someone needing jig practice.

Bill do you know if there are cabin rentals up there? I know I could Google but this way I get the right answer!

No cabins that I know of just campgrounds. Not even a hotel in Smithville I think I'd stay at. I'm sure the best bet is an Airbnb.

Kearney, Smithville, Trimble and even Platte City areas are all real close.
Thanks ripnlips thanked you for this post
