    Default The Elusive Smithville Report

    Elusive post like Smithville keepers!

Saturday on the water for about 3 or 4 hours with lucky 13 fish and one keeper unless you count the walleye and that would be 2 keepers and 14 fish.

Sunday about the same time, on the water and off early but 21 fish and 4 keepers. Did a lot of looking especially the second day and found a few spots I could have stayed and caught plenty of 7/8 inch fish.

Can’t find the big fish for sure.

Did have a run in with another fisherman Saturday, lucky for him his son was with him, or I would have…….
    JK Nice seeing ya Joedog!

Nice job Bill! Sounds like a typical day on the Ville', a bunch of dinks and the occasional Gewber.

    Hey!! I resemble that remark!!

And on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, there were more than the "occasional" Gewbers out there!! Chased us off the water by 11a.

We started trolling crawlers for walleye and caught a 20" and a short, and a bonus fish (crappie).

Switched spots/technique/species and started trolling cranks for crappie. Picked up a few, and a bonus fish (walleye).

Maybe from now on I should just fish Smithville for bonus fish??
