    Default Tried to turkey hunt

I really did but with only gobbling good ways away and only one burst and then silence? Not really good at waiting for decoys to attract more a run and gunner. So after a while, the call of the "thump" proved too powerful.

Hit the banks different than last week but realized I could actually walk to a place where we had KABOOM last week at last minute. Walked around and found little pocket out of howling wind and tossed in. Caught 2 there and then went to beaver pile but not much going on where Charlie and I had got em. Did manage 3 good ones closer to bank. Then moved back down bank casting and picked one. When I hit that little pocket again KABOOM went off and quickly caught 8. In about 5 fow with a small curly tail jig 1/32nd.

Always nice to stumble on new places.

Yes I know it's turkey season and Tommorow I have a better plan where I will go after them instead of sitting around.

Couple of neighbors coming by for these fresh speckled beauty limits.Name: 20230417_151302.jpg

Thing that's weird is in places where spawn is traditionally it has happened in short bursts then change in wind and weather moves them off. But my one little spot because there are small reeds and little bit o brush in shallow sandy areas they have been consistently there for last two weeks. Same thing happening on two different bodies of water. No one else is fishing there but both are short distance from. Where many folks fish.

    Riddle me that one Batman.
