Sounds like a great trip
Hello all! I have been fishing Table Rock my whole life and even guided here for about ten years. Just joined the site and it looks to be a great group of people. Wanted to share a fresh report.......last two days, same story both days. Went up in the James around Cape Fair Marina and beyond......very little action. Went back down to Woolly Creek and Carney Hollow and SMOKED some of the biggest crappie I've ever caught on the Rock. Had several over 14" including a 16.5" big girl. I have seen this before on Table Rock......the good bite starts down river and works it's way up for whatever reason, but right now, Woolly and Carney are on fire with some big fish. I was throwing Bobby G's (electric chicken mostly) and getting the hits about half way back to the boat, with the fishing being in 8-10 foot of water. Some were structure related and others seemed to be roamers.......also not uncommon as those big uns need to eat!

Great report. Thanks. I had planned to give them a try on Monday up around Mash Hollow, but you have me thinking Carney Branch might be a better choice. Did you fish in Buzzard any?
Welcome to the site and thanks for the report! I have a chance to go down that way, the weekend before Memorial Day, but...I know it's a tough crappie bite on that lake unless you know what you're doing.
I love the size of those Tablerock crappie.
