Beautiful bounty rooster
Well, we are close to closing out 2022. With reasonable winds and ok temps, my friend and I headed out with the intent to spider rig. We hit the main creek channel with no fish to be seen. So, we started searching trees. We found 10 huge schools with lots of dinks and plenty of 10"+ fish.
We worked hard to get our double today. It was fun watching an old hat learn new techniques and technology. "I would have never fished those trees. I would have fished this tree for 30 mins and nothing. With this, I see the active fish and that there are zero where I expected."
Either way, it was fun. We got a tip from two older gentlemen, who launched around 1pm and got their limit in an hour. Maybe next time!

Don't take this the wrong way, but posts like this almost make me feel ill. Can't tell you how many times I was on Truman & Pomme between July & October & caught exactly 3 fish. I read everything I can on the hows & the wheres & the whens to no avail & constantly coming home empty handed is starting to give me a complex.
I'm a newb/re-entry angler & trying to learn, but at this point I don't know if I just suck or if there are/were no fish. I've got a nice Garmin to mount & hoping that it'll at least eliminate that "are they there?" question.

Patience and time. 2020 & 2021 were my learning years. I've paid a guide, I've sat with others and learned from trial and error. Amy and I caught fish last year, but Live is a game changer. The difference between sitting on a tree with one bite or sitting on one tree catching several fish or wasting time on lock jawed fish. It changes a lot!

Thanks for the post on the live scope experience. We all sat fishing trees that we thought there should be fish on it and didn't know how long to fish it before moving on.

I did the same, using my standard sonar with fish icon. We could see that it was marking fish, but never knew they were lock jawed.
Congrats on the great day and sharing of the experience!
Not sure Live Scope's in my near future, but I've got a Garmin UHD 73SV to mount & figure out. Oughtta be a quantum leap forward over my current method of burning gas & beating the water.
I figure finding 'em's them the first step. I don't mind working for it, but no sense beating the water if there aren't any fish in it.
