Thread: fishing graft, and depth finder and map's

All the new ones are smarter than me so I'd stick with the one you like operating the best. I don't like Lowrance or working them but never had one so navigating the birds is much easier to me.

two of mine are like 15 years old, Have so many fish caught under them they are slimed up beyond repair. just sayin

I prefer the touch screens. HB touch screens are too expensive. I find Garmin to be very UN-intuitive. Plus it seems like you have to tell garmin what screen to load every time you power it up... I like Lowrance, and the price is good too.

Well I am in keeferfish's post. I have had both Garmin and Lowrance newer units with live scope or active target. The Garmin is easier to use but the Lowrance has a much clearer picture. But if I were looking at a finder without forward looking I would go with hummingbird because they have the best mapping when you need it.

I suggest that you go somewhere that carries them and get some hands on experience so you can make an informed decision about which to get.

Hey Beagle go over to Baas pro they will have several demo models you can look and play with. However, before you buy one I would call Brian at BBG marine and let him price it. I agree with ripnlips about the various models. The hummingbird Mega DI will really show you detail of those brush piles in Stockton, as if you didn't already know where they are lol.
