man that sucks, maybe go by bucksaw and ask those guys, they are real helpful, If they are still open, If not hopefully someone can chime in and give you a heads up,
Came down for our annual fishing trip at Truman. We usually do spring but we got rained out and I try to jump on every chance I can fish with grandpa as we get older. We've never fished crappies in the fall so we knew it'd be a bit of an adjustment.
Fished all day and morning in our cove and others around Tebo yesterday and today and haven't pulled a single crappie out. We've tried depths from 3 ft to 25 ft. 1/16 Oz to 1/4 Oz jigs, roadrunners, minnows, jigs and plastics, jigs and plastics with crappie nibbles, dipping trees, vertical jigging. No luck.
We're here till Thursday. Hopefully we can find them between now and then. If anyone is willing to point us in the right direction it'd be much appreciated. Have a good Monday yall

The tips I've been given by a guide, Pro-Staff member and two dudes with lots of lake experience...
Find structure outside of coves on the "flats." The fish are feasting on all the bait that is up in the coves and this makes those fish lock jawed when you toss your jigs at them. I've watched large crappie swim up to and past my jigs. Not in an aggressive manner either. Another thing to consider, Sunday we had thunderstorms roll thru and this had the barometric pressure all sorts messed up. I know because I could hardly move Sunday and I was still hurting until about this time yesterday. "Fishing is tough, unless you know where some crappie condos or stake beds are located on the flats." One tip I took to heart, hire a guide and tell him why you want to go out with them. I learned more about the areas I was fishing in half a day, than I learned in 2 years trying this and that.
Thanks for the responses guys!
Picked up a couple off the bottom last night.
@TheRooster - you're exactly right. We've seen quite a few balls of shad being chased by crappie and they're not interested in anything we have to offer.
I think it may be time to hire a guide if we ever return in the fall. Just need to stick to spring I guess lol
Summer fishing can be real tough. There are lots of guys with a lot of experience and they fish the lake a lot and have many waypoints saved. Where are you staying? Maybe I can give you a couple spots to try. You can PM me with a drop pin and I am happy to share anything I've had luck with over the last few years.
We ended up lucking out that a guide had an opening this morning. Had our limit in 3 hours and it was a lot of fun to learn from one of the best!
Thanks to all that have chimed in over the years with advice, tips and spots. We have been so blessed to learn from yall. I wear my crappie.com shirt with pride
