Went up two days ago. Had some relatives in from Texas who love the water so just running them around the lake. Ran all over the lake just riding around and when we got up the river arm, I asked if he wanted to see how I crappie fished. He said no way your’re an idiot.
Anywho, started flipping the bank catching nice fish, could have easily limited. Caught about a dozen and threw them back. Water temp surface was 68ish.
What a change 2 days make! Took my neighbor kid tonight to the exact same spots and only caught 2. Surface water temp 82.6 OUCH! So we headed to the main lake temp 77ish. It was tough. We did manage 6 keepers which were given to a dad and two small kids bank fishing. Actually heard one of the 3ish year olds tell me to get out of their spot. Also the main lake had the floating green slime snot moss and I never do good around that junk. Lake turnover? Hopefully it gets better????
