Life does seem to find a way to keep us from things we enjoy. Many times there are more important things that come up
Was supposed to go up to my place and go fishing but the wife had a momentary blackout sunday so thought I better stick around and make sure it didn't repeat. It hasn't but better to be safe. THEN i'm wandering around costco with her while tire replacement was put on, had blowout on hers when my crappie guru buddy calls up and goes where are you their on the banks! AARGH it's frustrating that now I'm committed to papa daycare for next two days and can't get away! plus the weather turned ugly with rain and windy conditions. Then I;m supposed to walk neighbors dog saturday while they leave for day.
Last time he called with that message last spring for a different lake several friends and I had THE most spectacular spawn fishing and were ketchn big uns and even PB's. but then I jumped in the car and was heading out within hour after he called.
So you all know how awful it is to not be able to go BUT family is more important. Will go sunday morning when weather turns beautiful for a few days. Oh well it happens.
Top of everything else youngest daughter wanted me to watch her baby on mondays and waited till april to start. Had to laugh at her and explain that THIS and October are MY happy times and between crappie and turkeys don't count on me much.

You'll get into them! They might back off the banks by Sunday though, but it won't be far!

The spawn is over.
Not hardly. Cold front moved them back into pre spawn is all.
