Default Smithville this weekend... Your best guess.

I can fish either Saturday or Sunday but not both. Would you fish Saturday morning and hope the cold front (54 predicted) doesn't effect the fish no one can find anyway? Fish Saturday afternoon-evening with the hope that the increasing clouds and return to warmer weather will stimulate an evening bite? Fish Sunday morning and hope the "scattered storms and thunderstorms" don't develop before noon?

Leaning toward Sunday morning... Oh yeah, taking the "other half" that holds me responsible for poor fishing and bad weather.

Saturday the front should have pushed through. I would think it will be calm. I hate the wind in my lite boat. I with ya on the holds me responsible for poor fishing and bad weather Good Luck

I doubt if the front willl affect the fish very much i know i'm goin tomorrow because the forecasted wind isnt supposed to be above 7mph...even if the fishin is slow it will still be a nice day to be on the water.

Smithville does seem to be near the bottom of a cycle in size of crappie but it's close (30min to ramp) and a pretty lake... lots of shoreline for a lake of its size. Can usually find a cove that's out of the wind and not filled with boats.

Used to have access to a large pond that was full of big bass but the owner sold it and moved to the city. Go figure.

Gambled and lost. Woke up to thunder...Got a river running through my backyard now.... Hmm... 1/8 oz jig cast upstream to the edge of the neighbors yard... drift it just above the grass and along the fence near the willow. Flooded willows are good cover, right?
