Not that I'm aware of but I've found for the hour drive home putting them in a cooler on ice makes them easier to clean once I get home.

Plan to fish out of Shawnee Bend, but can't find anywhere to clean fish if we are lucky enough to catch some??? Please advise if you know of a cleaning station. Thx!

You drive them to my house and I will clean them and eat them
but no Sorry, I have no real good idea of where would be a good place. One thing I like to do is use my boat as a table when it's loaded. But you need a cordless nice for that. Take an extra bucket with you for the scrap. Best advise I know to give you. Good luck.

I have been advised by MO conservation agents that you will be ticketed if caught cleaning fish at the lake - even if the boat is trailered. In their eyes, you must be at your home or a place you are renting (hotel, condo, etc.) When they told me this, I asked about boat ramps with fish cleaning stations. They said that was OK. So, go figure! I really got the feeling it was up to the discretion of the agent. So, you are taking a chance if you clean fish anywhere except home/rental or a designated cleaning station.
And, keep in mind, every state is different.
Curious what the ticket would be for? Tons of fish are cleaned daily on the docks at LOZ, Truman, etc.

This is another gray area and unfortunately may be left up to the CO in determining what is allowed. The wildlife code states (CSR 10-6.405) “the head, tail, and skin must remain attached to all fish for which length limits are established while those fish are on the waters to which length limits apply or until the fish have been checked by an agent...”. I personally interpret the on the water as on the water. When I fish where there isn’t a cleaning station I take a fold up table with me, fill a bucket of water when I pull the boat out and clean them at one of the upper parking lots. Then I walk down the bank to a place away from docks and the ramp and put the remains back. Maybe it is just a matter of time before I get a ticket.

Agreed. That is partly why I asked them, as I have through the years seen people cleaning at boat ramps and occasionally in their boats while pulled up to shore. Now, if you are cleaning them on a dock, it is a designed fish cleaning station (like Bucksaw Marina, etc.) or you own or are renting the lake house with the dock. In those cases, you are good to go.
Again, this is straight from two different agents. I was inquiring about having all my rods put up, the boat pulled up on shore and I am no longer actively fishing. They both (without hesitation) stated they would ticket me if they saw it.
As I mentioned above, I think this is a part of the code where there is some room for agents to make a judgement call. But, they both fell on the same side of the decision.

Well all I can say is I was checked once at the Shawnee Bend ramp while cleaning fish and had no issues. He looked at the fish yet to be cleaned and checked our permits and went on his way.

Thanks for all the info. Never heard that before. I see people clean paddlefish at ramps with conservation agents present. Just assumed crappie would be the same.
