I have a trip planned to Birch Lake in northern Minnesota, 20 miles from the Boundary Waters canoe area. I am check to see if anyone has fished this lake. I would check on the Minnesota site but no one has posted in a month so I will have to wait till it thaws out and people start posting. Let me know if you have fished this lake. Like I quoted its a long shot but hey you never know.
I fished Birch lake several years ago twice. We were at a Resort called Roaring Stoney. Located where roaring stoney river spills into Birch lake. We had a great time catching northern and walleye mostly. We caught several nice smallmouths where the river dumped in to the lake. Don't think that resort is in business anymore. We fished many different patterns. Caught some nice fish that we mounted. Really enjoyed the lake. Not that far from Ely, Mn.
