At least you gave it a shot, I was ready to go, but didn't want to fight the wind. Smithville can be tough in good conditions.
Minnows that is...
I couldn't find anywhere to hide from the wind. Report from bait shop says the marina docks were hot. I didn't dare trying to troll around the docks. Finally found one spot halfway protected and even marked a few fish so we tossed out our lines but my TM was nearly maxed out and the wind was still blowing us in circles. 1/2 oz weights were water skiing. Then the heavy drizzle started...
Was still nice to see some new water, and test the motor and new brakes, hubs, and bearings on the trailer.
Thanks for the tip Bill. Next time Joe is busy or you just want help filling the boat, give me a call.

Good tip - where to buy minnows!
Glad you got out!
I want to drag the boat up there, but wanted to wait for the thaw. Might head up there in two weeks.

Clay county somehow managed to encompass the lower 2/3 of the lake with parks and there are no Corp's boat launches. Here are the crook's outrageous fees.
