A few years ago I caught crappie 65ft. deep in the coldest part of the winter on stockton.
I have a depth question for you all. I fish Lake of the Ozarks near the Grand Glaize bridge area. In the summer months between June1st and September 1st, what is your thought on the optimal Crappie depth? In almost all applications, I don’t usually see or catch crappie much deeper than 15-18 feet suspended in 20-25 feet deep. I do sometimes catch them suspended 12-18 feet over 35-40 feet of water on some condo docks.
What is your all experience with summer crappie depth?
Do you catch them holding close to structure deeper than 18 Feet? If you catch them in deep water, do they ever hold very deep, or are they always suspended very high?(above 20ft)
I also know they will suspend pretty high to right under the floats of deep water docks in the summer as well.

I fished tournaments all over east of the Mississippi river. Most bodies of water have there own caricature. Truman I like and don't go to Oz. Truman is usually 12 to 20 for me all summer for me. But money fish accross the east was 6 to 12 feet in most waters. Over in Tennessee at Normandy we won fishing 30 to 35 feet deep in 100 fow in march one year. There are so many variables to this question. My favorite is when they are shallower.

In the summer I think most crappie at LOZ suspend in deep water. I don't fish for crappie much in the summer anymore but when I do it's trolling crankbaits or at night with a light.

when family had house at 6mm cove and we had 4 slips had cedar at every corner and would ketch them consistantly all summer in fairly shallow water 6 to 10 foot in 10 to 13 fow.
mr baker always seems to be dock shooting on those over deeper water in winter or summer but they don't seem to be suspended very deep.
