Nice fishes. Better than a skunk!
Fished Mark Twain Lake on Tuesday, yes the cold day before this warm spell. I have Tuesday and Thursdays off and Tuesday was calling for cool with light winds and Thursday was calling for sunny and nice but 20 mph winds. Well look at today and there is light winds also. Looks like I picked the wrong day. The good was there was not many boats on the lake. N2 Crappie (Mark) and I headed up there and arrived about 9 am. I almost had the kiss of death when I caught a crappie on my first drop. Fished a little of everything. Trees had nothing by except one that had a big brush pile next to it. We fished brush pile in 8' to 20'. Water temperature was 47 degrees. No live scope for us so we would have to make a pass with the side scan and go back and try to locate with the down scan which is tough at times. Usually one of us would get snagged and new we found it. Most brush piles would only hold 1 nice fish. We did catch and release alot of short fish hoping that they grow up for next years fishing. Took home some to eat. Had a great time with Mark as usual.
Nice catch. A lot of black crappie being caught right now from the looks of all the pictures I have been seeing and what I have been catching there.
