Good job!
Fished Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Tough bite but managed a few nice keepers. Trolled cranks and then fished minnows Friday with no luck. The South and Middle forks were a mess with debris. Saturday morning single poked in timbered coves near the dam and did better. 7 good keepers, a few shorts and NTS. Fished I caught were off trees in 20+ foot of water and 6-15 feet
down. Tried a variety of colors but if it wasn’t tipped with a minnow I couldn’t get them to bite. LS can be frustrating when you see a bunch of fish in a tree and they won’t bite. I never caught more than one in the same spot.

If we did what was most important in life there

Thanks for the update and pics
I was out there on 5/5 - 5/7. It was hot. We tried cranks as well. The fish just were not out in the main lake chasing shad yet so I wasted probably 5 hours trying to get them to bite. I found a very similar pattern to what you were doing. Reverted to trees in 12 - 35 ft of water. I got 14 nice fish on 5/5 with many 4" dinks. On 5/6 I managed 8 nice fish it was a bit slower. 5/7 I only fished for a few hours and managed another 8 nice fish. (Nice fish= 10.5" - 13". Most were 11").
It sure was hot and hard fishing. I only pulled one or two off of a single tree. I must have fished several hundred trees to find them.
The fun part for me was using some jigs I tied up. Black head orange chenille with pheasant saddle feathers for the tail. Also did well on some red / white & blue jigs. I call them "old glory". Sorry I didn't take any pictures wish I would have
