ted, I worked in laurie today so i decided to check for places to launch, i found purvis beach.i thought 8 bucks was pretty steep to launch so i went to light house marina and it was 5 bucks, i think i will use the ramp at lighthouse. I also went to procter creek and found a place for 5 bucks, this is the first time i have seen that part of the lake and it looks good, still muddy but good. I went yesterday and had my engine blew up in about a mile so it wasent a good day for me, but good news i found a 150 yamaha pro v that will bolt right up and i think i got the deal done so i will be back on the water in a couple of days. when i do i'm headed to laurie to try that part of the lake.

Sorry to hear about your motor Bugman, glad to hear that you found a replacement. A buddy of mine blew his up back in oct, and still hasnt found a motor. Yes 8 bucks is a little step, and 5 is still but not to bad. Lighthouse is best, since the ramp is stepper puvis is shallow and sucks if you launch by yourself. Now where is proctor creek from purvis? Also you can launch at the Hurrican deck bridge on the laurie side. Just as your cross over on right going to Laurie. But its 10 bucks to launch last time I looked. Let me know when you go up that way.

just outside laurie is hwy 135,go down 135 about 5 miles turn left on J hwy, go about a mile and it turns to gravel follow that about another mile and you will see mallard resort. I believe it was 5 bucks to launch it will put you in procter creek which is the 55 mm. ps there is a nice baitshop on 135 called osage tackle co. If you ever need a partner on that side of the lake let me know i would like to learn it same goes if you want to learn the glaize.

Thanks for the info, it all sounded good till you said "turns to gravel". With tires on my truck, and my boat new I will try to stay away from gravel. We can sure trade some time for spots. I dont mind launching out of light house and running up that far, then working back to the ramp. You also might be able to launch out of johnson brothers.

Johnson brothers is up around the 46mm, I dont know for sure how to get to it. But I do know its off of 135 just dont know what road. But next time you are up in Laurie stop at there place on the westside of the road. They could tell you if you can launch at there place on the water. There is also some good fishing up around that area. I wish Conservation would buy some land a put a public ramp in around the 40's or 50's

I agree, from what i've found there is not a conservation ramp within several miles. according to my map the only ramps on the osage arm are both around the 61 mm,let's face it this lake does not cater to fishermen anymore,it's sad but true. sunday when i blew my engine i was able to fish one of my stakebeds while limping back to the ramp it is in only 5.5 ft of water and i caught 8 decent fish and a few shorts in about an hour then the rain came it was more than i could take. flats fishing will get better soon, do you fish flats up there?

Yep you are right that this lake does not cater to us. At least it gets cold enough to run the other boats off for several months each year. Just wish now we could get rid of the pleasure boaters on truman. We have been fishing mostly brushpiles in or near docks or the bluffs. Havent not really hit the flats, havent seen to many up around purvis. I do see some good flats in the glazed arm thou. Still need to get some more beds out, especially some shallow ones.
