First night trip this year for me and the action was pretty good. Launched at Coffman Beach and ran to a bluff point along the main channel. Fairly unusual that I did not get any bigger fish for this time of year and had to weed through some dinks and bluegill to get a limit. Vertical fished minnows 20 to 25 fow, 7 to 15 feet down. Tried bass fishing for a couple of hours with almost no luck. The water was pretty clear and I shined a flashlight along some banks. I saw some channel cat by the hundreds, gar, flathead, and some pretty big grass carp. It was a nice night to be out, except for some rain at the very end.
