    Default Smithville Bank

My wife wants time to herself at home for Mother's Day to rest, so may be taking the boy to Smithville for a couple hours.
Anybody know if the rocks by Camp Branch are doing any good, or the tree area on the other side of the highway over there (not sure what that is called).... Or somewhere else all together... Thanks!!

I was out Thursday and they were a lot deeper than the previous Friday. Riprap seems to hold more fish than trees although I caught a few everywhere.

I'm done with the Crappie spawn. I won't go back out until the summer pattern emerges. Low water has made the spawn pattern unpredictable.

I fished Smithville for a few hours yesterday (Saturday) morning. Caught a few near rocky banks, but most were out deeper, in 8-12' of water. This was my first time on this lake, and everything I caught were shorts. Kept thinking I caught the same 8.5" fish over and over. Lots of small bass as well. Minnows and jigs.
Teach your kids to hunt and fish and you won't have to hunt for your kids !!
