I have been out on the water the last two nights (Pomme de Terre last night, and Truman tonight.) Spawn is definitely not over and I would say the spawn is closer on Truman than it is at Pomme. We have been catching fish anywhere from right on the bank to 20 fow. Anything chartreuse color is working and we have had more luck slow rolling along the bottom all the way to the boat and progressively speeding up our retrieve as it gets darker. Catching smaller fish up on the bank and bigger sows out in a little deeper water. Fish are all over the place right now, but the bigger sows seem to be holding to cover in 10-20 fow. Hope this helps get you some vittles in the livewell! Good luck!
    FISH ON!

I was at Stockton on Sunday south of the 245 bridge. Males were up shallow 4-6ft fanning nests, females were still staging deeper on cover. Still late prespawn, it's for sure not over with, but I expect it may not last long with these hot days. If I remember right the water was 62-64 degrees, they say the spawn is in full swing between 68-72.

Of course it can vary quite a bit depending on what end of a given lake that you're on.

I fished some deep cover first and caught a small male and a decent female, then started casting towards the bank and working it just above the bottom back towards the boat. Caught 5 slab males, a couple shorts, a 2lb largemouth, and a drum, all in shallow water. Males were black as can be and their tails were starting to fray from fanning.

Not spawning yet, soon though. They all do not spawn at once. It will be spread over a couple weeks.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
