Hey Dunc wher you at in Florida I leave tomorrow for two weeks one on the gulf and the next in orlando. The time share in Orlando has a lake and paddle boats so I also lucked out there for fishing . It's suppose to have large Bass in it. I guess any fishing is better than no fishing. I'm also bring down some crappi jigs to see if there is any thing else in it. I hate leaving in prime crappie time I told the wife next year we stay home in the spring.

Tried the small one on the side with a jig under a bobber with a slow retrieve and caught 4 bass, all over 2 pounds. Then tried this morning, one black crappie around 8", super dark, so they are probably spawning. Then tonight at dusk, 4 blue gills that were close to 9" and 5 bass around 16" each.

Not the greatest fishing, but I'll take it. I can go and do family things all day, then hit the lake for the 45 minute window when the fish are biting good.

My wife wondered how I'd get by for a week without fishing, as soon as we got here she realized I wouldn't have to. :D It's a win win. Just wish there were more crappie where I'm at.

Beagle, did you have to shovel snow the other night?
no but I fished all you secret spots. while you were sunning and funning florida is nice huh. hope you get to big water fish while youre there. that ocean fishing is the best fish awhile ,puke a while, fish awhile, cry awhile, not me the ones on the other side have fun tell everbody beagle says hey.
