    At what water temp do black crappie start spawning? I feel like from experience they spawn first..

    I think it has more to do with the length of daylight. I'm sure water temp may have some effect but daylight has the biggest influence. If you think about it, crappie up north still spawn and the water temp rarely gets above 50-60 degrees. That being said, depending on what part of the state your'e in, I'd say anywhere from the beginning of April until the first part of May.
