Trying to find the best places in Northwest Missouri to catch a crappie. I'm new to this and so far I've only been down in the Truman Lake and Lake of the Ozarks area. Used to strictly catfish, but broadening my horizons. Any help for crappie fishing near the Nebraska/Iowa boarder of Missouri would be greatly appreciated.

Mozingo Lake near Maryville is good for both crappie and walleye

smithville and mozingo are popular....but small lakes like Pony express, nodaway county lake, willowbrook, happy holler, Belcher branch, all have good to excellent populations and will produce if you spend time on them

you cannot get a boat on mozingo at the moment
Okay, I heard it's hard to fish from the bank, but might try to get over there to try it if we get a warm day
Anyone catch Crappie in the Missouri River?
I've never tried, only caught monster catfish. It's really muddy and strong current, so I'm not sure. Maybe someone with more knowledge could shed some light
