Personally I think color options are over rated. You hear anglers swear by this color or that color when it's really more about the presentation. I talked to a guy at Coffman who got a nice limit and said the only thing he could catch them on was a white pepper shad pole. I told him I pretty much use BG Slayer blue ice and he said he couldn't get a bite on that. I went out the next day, same conditions, and caught them on blue ice all day. Just pick a color that matches the water conditions.

You know, if you read through these and other threads posing the same question I think you’ll find we all are using different colors of jigs and bodies. Not that any are wrong, I mean if nobody caught fish there wouldn’t be Crappie.com. For me, if I’m not throwing a chartreuse shad with a 1/16 oz pink head I don’t feel comfortable. I may change through the day here and there but I will always come back to it. I know I’m not the only one who does that.
