We were up at M.T. all last weekend - fished out of R.B. Fri night and Saturday, and out of Southfork on Sunday.
Caught tons of fish, probably threw back 50 shorts each day, but didn't catch a single one over 11", and only about two dozen total over 9".
Largest two were caught trolling on the outside of timber in about 30' of water.
Teach your kids to hunt and fish and you won't have to hunt for your kids !!hdhntr LIKED above post
He was at it again this weekend..........got Gramps out (with Mom) on Sunday for 4 hours of crankin in some beautiful weather (minus the wind). Kept 20 good crappie.......wind was pretty brutal so he didn't get to fish our regular haunts where we do well on the walleye. Said Gramps would holler at the top of his lungs every time a rod bounced thus, there was a lot of hollerin'.
Come on August 4th!

Great!
Looks like they had a good time, how old is you grandpa?
Got some good blood lines in your family. I hope I am still fishing in my 80s.

Great that you had gpa to start you and get to fish with your dad as well. NO ONE in my family fished and i just learned by myself. jealous! WTG for your dad and granmps!
Thanks, I consider myself pretty lucky. Dad instilled the fire/passion in me for hunting and fishing very early (literally in diapers) so I really didn't have a chance! My family members are all naturals with a fly rod thanks to Gramps. When my brother passed at 21, he had been living/guiding in West Yellowstone, MT, for two years, tying his own flies, breaking his own path, finding new water etc. Kid was a savant when it came to fly fishing.
Life is good.
