We dont do a lot of long lining, but we do pull crank baits a bit and this time of year we would be out on main lake flats and the channel eadges. Hope that helps good luck and report back
Hello all!
I grew up crappie fishing over on Tebo arm with my father as a kid. Always in the summer and always jigging cedar trees with minnows. Really have not crappie fished much over the last 20 years. I do tournament catfish and on lakes drag baits. I am trying to get into crappie fishing again and have done quite a bit of research on different techniques other than "dipping" the trees. Long lining is darn near about the same thing as dragging baits and my boat is set up perfectly for it. I picked up 4 12ft Pinnacle rods and am taking the old man down to the lake this weekend for a father's day trip. Looking for any advice from Truman folks on where to start graphing and if there are any long liners that can give me some advice down there.
Thank you!

Thank you for the reply. Helps me start forming a game plan on what to target. I figure crappie would be the same as the blue cats down there on the flats... following the shad.
One thing to keep in mind for the upper Grand this weekend.....The Crappie Masters One Pole tournament is Friday and Saturday. That will be almost 100 boats swarming around in a relatively small area. Just a heads up that finding prime fishing spots might be a little frustrating.
Thanks for that info. Looks like I'll change from bucksaw over to long shoal and hit Tebo arm to avoid the traffic.
We caught a few nice crappie on the Osage arm last weekend. Look for trees on the flats 15ft of water, fish were 5ft down or on the bottom.
