I was out today on Smithville. Didn't seem to matter where you dropped a lure as long as it was in 2 to 6 feet of water a crappie would hit it. I got there at two and left at 6 and time of day didn't seem to matter. End results 100 8 inch crappie and one 10 inch.
With all the technology I think you should be able Skype the meeting from your boat

NICE! that's so much fun when they are so shallow and so ready to whack your jig!

Just a couple of questions, not looking for spots, which arm and are they on the bank or off? I'm really new as far as crappie on Smithville, wife doesn't fish much but wants to go for Mothers Day. Just a reminder for all ,if you still have your mom tell her you love her this week!! Lost my mom 3 years ago and it's still kinda hard on this day.

Males or females?
Small males white and black as far as what I caught. I was testing my new rig so easy access is what I was looking for but if hit the less pressured areas I think you may catch some bigger crappie and maybe more females. Judging by the consistency of catching 8" fish I'm guessing that the larger fish are being stripped out of the popular locations.
From what I could see they were on the banks everywhere. Both arms and main lake but I didn't stop to talk to anyone.
dfar thanked you for this post
