Default 1-21-17 LOZ First fishing trip since August.

I couldn't of a dream of better weekend.
    65 degrees weather in January.
Fishing in a long sleeve shirt
The fish bite is hot and I had all day to fish with my Son, who 2-1/2. We had a blasted together. Most of the time I would shoot and hand him the pole. He would take it from there. When he caught a fish he would start laughing until he had to do something with the fish.

The size wasn't there in the Little Niaugua so we headed to the big Niaugua. That's were things got good. The boy and I caught enough fish to make me tired of fishing for the day. A lot of catch and release. Just try to show the boy good time when fishing good so he know that these day exists. I don't want to burn him out on hard days.

So there kinda random on water depth.
I would find fish on docks with 30' FOW under them and some with 13' FOW under them.

The fish did seem to be a few docks back from cove points. The fish were everywhere in depth. Some hit it right when the bait touch the water and other would hit it after four second count or longer.

Stick with 16 oz jig and 3" slabslayer bait.
    Bluegrass
    Blue ice

I had my 5 yr old grandson out there about the last hour of sunlight, he had a blast! Caught one by himself, and hooked one that got off next to the boat. But, he's still afraid to touch them.
