Default SMITHVILLE, A.M. ICE, LATE AFTERNOON , ALMOST ALL GONE.

Got there before sun up, Ice at little Platte, Ice all over W boat ramp, had to launch at Camp branch. There WAS a 1/2 - 3/4 inch sheet between Camp Branch buoys' and toward main lake, about 300 feet, used boat for an ice breaker to get to main lake. Fished main lake brush piles , I ended up with 7 keepers, 1- being 12.5. The bite WAS REAL LIGHT. 36.6 degrees. Seen plenty of dock fishermen yanking. Name: 20170121_165257.jpg

Good job. It must be colder up there at Smithville. I went to Windsor crossing today and could only manage 2 drinks

Lake Condition: The lake is currently 23 inches below normal pool and dropping about 1 inch per day. Spillway releases of 250 cfs should continue through January 23rd. The Water Control Manual calls for a 2 foot draw down of the lake level every winter.
