I'm also a fan of the Pflueger President reels, very nice and smooth for the money spent for one. You might want to check around and see if there is a sale going on
I also have the pflueger president combo in the lighter duty and it is great for dock shooting also. Can't beat the price on the combo.

Everyone has a President as I have several and for good reason....if you can get them on sale or want to spend a little extra the BPS Carbon Lite is the best rod I've used other wise the BPS Micro Lite is good. That Shakespeare at Wally Word is a great budget rod but they don't make the 6 1/2 foot anymore

great thread guys, I was just wondering what to get for my next rod. buddy was selling out, after his 5th ticket for too many crappie and losing his license, so I bought one of his st croix's and shimano reel with braided line on it. Not my usual play but for $80 bucks AND 5 pounds of gulf shrimp just couldn't pass it up.
Looks like I will be looking for a sale on Pflueger presidents now with BPS micro lite rod
I have always been a what's on sale kinda dude.
if anyone sees good sale for the president's combo please let us all know! much appreciated!
Pflueger President 6925 for reel
For rods, I have a couple BPS Microlite graphites. One is a 7' light action and the other is a 6' medium light. I prefer the medium light for shoot docks and the 7 footer for casting multiple jigs.
If you happen to go to Rogers, ask for Dave. Real big guy and knows EVERYTHING. In addition, last year at least, you could get 20% off a rod if you bought a reel. Can't go wrong with the Pflueger President. On the bass pro side I think their rods, after the initial larger guide, taper down in my opinion much too quickly. Just my 2 cents.
