Jeff called me this morning while I was working in the yard, bragging about huge fish, blah blah blah... then hung up on me.

I got about .65% of my planned work done and I grabbed thenephew that is with us for the weekend and headed east. Launched about 1:30 and headed for aflat. Fished few trees and Nick points outa real nice horse on the shore. Lookedlike it was free ranging it and laid down in the shade of a willow tree.
Jeff is right, nice fish out there on the flats, but darnwind makes that impossible. We tucked ina cove and two pole slow trolled with three rods between the two of us. Two jigs on each rod, shallow bite, 3-7’down, not really near timber at all.
Kept 16 nice eaters, missed a bazillion… the bite is as softas a minnow’s tail flutter on a hook.
Headed back to the same spot in the morning and will tryrigging since Nick wants to take fish to his mothers and limiting out will betomorrow’s goal.

Most of our catch was female with full egg sacks. One male still in battle dress.

Thanks for the heads up, Jeff.
