Well last weekend my son, Jack, and I scouted for our first ever turkey hunt. After we scouted last Saturday we managed to catch a few crappie, Jack caught the most - I think I had one. Well Saturday was the opening day of the youth hunt and he managed to shoot his first gobbler at 9:15 at 20 yards with his side-by-side 28 gauge. It weighed 21 1/2 pounds and had three beards, the longest was 10 1/2 inches. I didn't know how the day was going to turn out when the alarm went off at 4:00am, but it was exciting as hell!!! Oh, the fishing report. As I was standing on my deck I saw two different boats catch a few crappie in my cove. They were throwing up near the bank with bobbers, so it looks like they are moving up. I'll hit it hard next weekend now that we have the bird in the freezer! Oh, if anyone know hows to rotate images after you upload them will you let me know - thanks.
