Dang you guys did very well congrats.
We boated 24 keepers and probably four times that many shorts on the 14th. Four were between 13-14". All of the rain pushed down on the 15th and muddied up the river side so we stayed up flat creek and managed to catch five more keepers, two were right at 14", and maybe 10-15 shorts. We couldn't get anything going on the river side in the muddy water. Pitching jigs and minnows to any piece of standing timber was the only thing we did. We tried a few brush piles on the bottom, but they didn't produce much for us. Peach Orchard was loaded with crappie, but very few were keepers.
We also did well on the paddlefish on opening day. Between midnight-6am, we boated 9 and 14 more between 3pm-7pm. Most were males, but we did get a 60 pounder in the dark and a 70-75 pounder that evening. Since we don't care to eat them that much, we put all but one small male back. I'm going to try brining and grilling or smoking it instead of frying. That seems to be that preferred method of cooking for those that really like them.
Dang you guys did very well congrats.
Nice!
Tablerock always produces some nice slabs. Thanks for all the pictures and report.
Great trip, Some nice crappies on top of the spoonies!
Man, when did you guys sleep!
Nice job. Great pics too!
That's what I call getting after them! Fantastic job. Thanks for the pictures.
Great trip for sure. At least you have the crappie if the paddle fish doesn't taste too good. Very cool pictures. Thanks for sharing.
