I've always used H-birds, but I believe they all work good it's just your preference. I have an "old" 899 si/di that still works like new, probably upgrade when it breaks or get a new boat. What's nice about the Lakemaster maps is that you can pull up any lake on the card in your driveway, kinda helps get a game plan together or just figure what part of the lake looks good before you get there, don't think you can do this with Navionics. If the depth on the map does not match actual depth you can adjust it by getting on a depth line on the map and reading actual depth and adjust +/- the difference in the water level offset setting ,depth shading is very handy too.
