    Default OT- Ducks?

Got one last trip in last night, pretty slow. Plus I haven't figured out a solid Fall pattern yet, but did catch a couple Bass.

Anyway, time for the boat blind to go on. Did anyone see any interesting duck activity while out this weekend? Don't have to get specific, just curious what everyone else saw. Only thing new for me was a flock of Coots we hadn't seen on our lake before and a Commerant. Seeing a lot fewer Wood Ducks so far, hope they are doing okay this year.

    Thank you,
    Dave

Not a duck guy but I do know those teal are too fast for me. The green fish are fun to catch. Good luck.

too mild yet. Some ducks filling up the MDC sites. Lack of rain has opportunistic spots pretty thin, Wood ducks are working on the big acorn crop and feeding at night with the big moon. They are spread out on backwoods ponds, sloughs etc. where the oaks are. Some teal at the lease this am but with youth deer season we are letting the kids have the area this weekend. Pretty poor planning by MDC... have mixed thoughts on youth deer season. Friends in ND said it is loaded with ducks but so many hunters they cannot get a place to hunt within 20 miles of any size town.

Sat in my deer stand Sunday just off a pond and had 28 Woodies fly in and land. They sure are pretty I would love to have some mounted.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Our season in west central illinois opened Saturday but I came to Truman to chase some white bass instead. My buddies in my pit killed 10 opening day and said its been very slow and said I made the right choice to fish.
