Have fished LOZ some, but I don't know it as well as I'd like. (Practice, practice, practice). I love dipping timber with 9 1/2 rod a guy made me, throwing sliders, and fishing jigs under bobbers in the spring. Love to fish in the spring, but my favorite time on Truman is the winter. I fish out of a grey Fisher Marine 18 1/2 aluminum boat with a Yamahammer 115. It's a great boat, but it's pretty old (1990). It has really held up well depite hard use. Just got some slab busters from Jack and am looking forward to using them. I've always fished "glow jigs - 2" - they've got really bright colors and work great. Fished a day with MBaker throwing jerk baits and did pretty well - he kicked my ass - good jerkbait fisherman, but I'm gonna try to even the score with him on Grenada. If you're ever down in the Bucksaw Corps campground from mid March through mid May, a group of my buddies and I are usually there on Loop A, down close to the water. A bunch a old drunk crappie catching fools with campers in sites A-74 or so - you'll see a sign that says "Brownetown". We've kind of laid claim to that portion of the loop over the last several years - the camp attendants know us - we give them fillets. If you're in the area at that time of year, or in August - October, come pay us a visit. There's always cold beer, crown and stories, and you're welcome to share my beer, crown and bull**** any time.
Now that is my area for sure I spend most of my time between pretty bob to deepwater creek. Unless I fish the osage arm here and there. In the winter I fish LOZ.

    Default I've probably seen you.

Do you fish Truman much in the winter? It's pretty much a matter of finding cedar or hedge trees, ideally on a creek channel from what i've seen. I saw someone talking about fishing a quarry up by sparrowfoot. I know where the quarry is in the mouth of prettybob, but in the winter I hear that the bank fishermen will throw rocks at boats that fish in the areas that they can reach. I've done okay in prettybob in the spring (particularly in the small cuts on the left bank, but have spent alot more time in sand branch, hay creek and the northern coves up by the powerlines early april. Let me know when you're down in the area and we can swap lies and hoist a couple cool ones. What kind of rig are you fishing out of?

I do not fish it much in the winter because LOZ is so hot.
I need to fish it more in the winter to learn. I normaly fish nothing over 12' I have fished the quarry at pretty bob there is normaly someone fihing from the bank have had no problems. The sparrowfoot quarry is allot better the city of Clinton gets there fresh water from there. the pump keeps the water good. I have caught a few monsters in pretty bob I am normaly farther west. When the water warms good fish the shallows in the back you will be amazed. I have a 21' black nitro 2000 dc with 150 merc.
I put in some at kensley landing that is at the mouth of pretty bob. Normally put in at Otter.

    Default Where I fish

I fish out of the State Park Marina on Stockton lake. There are a lot of fish around the marina and several good brush piles put out by the state. I have a pontoon and fish mostly for crappies right now. I do some bass fishing and walleye fishing in the summer, not much though. I like to night fish for crappie and catfish when the weather is a little warmer at night. I do a lot of trot line fishing at night around edge island and do pretty well in early and late summer.

I am fairly new to the area and am looking for fishing partners. If you live around or fish Stockton let me know and maybe we can hookup and catch a few. I fish whenever the weather isn't miserable so give me a shout and we will wet a line or two.

Hey Bugman the locals tell me that the bite will be on in three or four weeks, depending on the weather. A lot of them troll the flats going in and out of deeper water close to the dam. I'm going to give that a shot around the first of march. If you are around let me know and we will give it a try.

hey gee. Which bank in Pretty Bob in the spring for that shallow action? The right bank seemed good, but it only went back about half way and got up to 3 feet. I found some good shallow water on the left bank, back by the small cove and on down the left bank. Am I missing some good water?
