    Default Binder Lake 7-10

Hit up Binder for a few hours before work and only caught three keeper size but one was a dandy. My honeyhole tree rarely disappoints. Also had another toad get me wrapped up and broke off . Some were in trees, some were in lily pads, some were on the dam, shad were running wild. Used a Bionic Blade 7' 6" heavy flippin stick, 20lb fluroclear P-Line, Browning Medallion reel, Chompers 1/2 oz black n blue football jig, and zoom super chunk trailer. And it's pronounced Bender not Binder.

Jefferson City, it is a parks n rec lake about 155 acres. Looks like a little Lake Fork. Has all the good features for bass fishing, can be very hit and miss but there are defiantly some hogs swimming around. If I had to pick one lake for the next state record bass it would be Binder. Few years ago I hooked one that instantly doubled my rod and moved my boat, like to think it was a bass bc I was flipping in very shallow lily pads. Heard a tale that the conservation shocked it twice a long time ago and found a state record both times but his could of been a rumor so idk. I do know my best day out there I had about 27lbs on 5 bass.

I lived in Jefferson city 9-10 years ago and binder was a good crappie lake when the weather was cold. Use to catch a lot of nice crappie out of there.

Yes there is good crappie to be had sometimes most are smaller I believe but there are some nice ones, lot of blacks. I do not crappie fish Binder very often but the first tree line out from Rainbow Dr. is a good bet in the spring when the water is in the mid 50's. Prob is there is not a lot of bait fish besides shad so the crappie are limited on forage. There is a ton of gizzard shad and they are big.
