    Default Tough day on Mozingo 5/30/15


    Hit Mozingo this morning and early afternoon. Bite was tough- ended up with 8 keepers mainly scattered in the deep brush using minnows (tightline and slip bobbers), but got into a pattern of really short fish in some standing timber. Dinked around there and probably caught 20-25 little guys and one or two keepers amongst them with jigs. Water was muddy for Mozingo, but the cold front was probably to blame as well. I did catch a 18 inch bass shallow on a minnow while I was searching for a better pattern. I didn't catch any crappie shallow. A couple had a good supply of ggs while a couple more only had a trace of eggs left.

    My last two trips have been tough. Going to give it a week or so break.

    Even your really deep holes? I'm still searching for those spots you said were bullet-proof! I hit Belcher Branch today and I only caught dinks there as well. Dink City this weekend!
