I haven't personally gone yet this year but my friends been getting their limits daily for the last few days fishing from banks with minnows.
I'm gonna try to head out tomorrow morning if it ain't raining.

Do your "friends" work at Burton's Tackle or sell minnows from their basement? Brother fished all morning and all he caught was a largemouth. No crappie on banks yet.

Not going to argue but your brother was in the wrong spot. My boy was fishing in the rain from shore and catching this morning.. He was throwing a road runner.
