I agree with Ed about the hook sizes you cant go wrong there.I tried the whole pouring jigs thing and after the first thousand i sold out to hell with that it has to be the most tedious thing i have ever tried and i got barbs only on about 1/2 of em....do yourself a favor and buy em from Ed's buddy, speaking of the sickle hooks has he ever come up with a price for 100 Ed?

Well i would buy them with the sickle hook but i can't find the darn things unpainted. I want to paint my own.
So if my ole buddy Ed would be kind enough to tell me where to get them i would go that route:D

I like gold #4s for a all round hook but for big fish or if your tipping with a minnow then I'll go with a gold #2. The DO IT YOUR SELF molds look good they seem to have a large barb on them as well.
Mrs Randy at Truman landing had the best hooks ever but I guess we cant get em any more since they they sold the store

    I use #2's and #4's. Sometime I'll use #6 for bluegill.

I use Eagle Claw Hooks cuz they support CUSA.

Anyone have an issue with the red hooks rusting prematurely and breaking?

Only if I use the eagle brand. I was told it was a bad batch.
I do not use eagle and have no trouble.
