Thats funny (well not really) because I had something almost identical happen to me on a duck hunting trip this past winter. A buddy of mine wanted for us to use my boat because it had more room and we had an extra person going that morning. Thank goodness for the extra person because they came in very handy at the end!! We start heading out to where we are going to launch and its a spot we hadn't launched my rig in before...only my buddies 14ft boat with his Isuzu Trooper. Well I have a 16ft War Eagle and drive a crew cab Ford full size truck. Needless to say we drive about 1/2 mile on the levee and make the turn and then figure out that there isn't near enough space on the levee for me to cut the trailer in to launch the boat. So I then backed up (in the dark of course) about halfway back down the levee and we had the bright idea to unhook the trailer, turn my truck around, and then swing trailer around so I could back it straight to the ramp. Got boat unhooked, got truck turned around, and you can guess what happened next when we went to turn the trailer...........first wheel caught the lip of the levee and away it rolled. This was a pretty steep levee and my boat found its way into the largest set of briers out there!! After several cuts to our hands and other places, the use of a tow strap and the help of a very burly third person that day we managed to get pull it back up on the levee after a good 45 minutes of cussing and throwing things!! The topper for the day was getting out to the spot and not killing a single mallard....I believe we shot one Spoonbill that day. I know we all have "those days" fishing/hunting, but I sure like to see them spread out over a few years!!
