Its a little more dangerous to push as now you not only have a crankbait with treble hooks swinging around you also have a 4 ounce weight trying to hit you in the head, I think I need a hard hat.

I would buy 2 extra bases for rod holders and mount them right in front of consoles, with rod holders up front and pulling cranks your line gets hung up on motor easy while making turns. I leave the terrova straight and drive with big motor[shut off], set in drivers seat your looking at fish finder and tips of your poles and where your going at the same time, you can stand up and reach rods. bring all fish in the back of boat put In live well right beside ya lol . rods id start with 12'and 6' off of each side. if ya like it buy two 16's and add one to each side, cover apr. 40 of water per pass. if your going to pull cranks better have good fillet knife.lol my .02

Thanks guys for all the advice and techniques. Please keep it coming, I need all I can get in this adventure lol

i def will put at least 4ft difference in length of poles. I will just order 200 and 300 Bandits. Will go with 10lb. Hi vis yellow
from Cabelas as I have reward card. I do have 2 extra base plates I can mount further back in boat.

as far as pushing I will order some Arkies and 3oz weight rigs. When pushing I assume you use the stiffer trolling rods that you pull with. Is there a minimum length rod to get crank in front of boat?

also was looking at Great Plains version of Lakemaster on Amazon and there seems to be standard 5.0 version and Hummingbird version. Both say 2014 year. One is $102 other is $114. Just want to get right one. Which one ?

i have HB998 at console and on front. Do I need 2 chips ?
Also please recomend any CC vendors. Thanks again in advance.

To my knowledge each GPS needs it's own chip. Version 5.0 is the newest, I just got one myself when I got my boat a few weeks ago. It is very handy to have especially when you are new to a lake (as I am with Truman). Saves you from getting lost if you run out a ways, and highlights the marinas on the map, helped my find my way back to Sterett Creek Sunday. First time launching there, which was a waste of gas because I ended up fishing the dam and North & West of there haha.
