when you guys go to buy tubes or other plastics do u buy a certain brand or when u go to buy are u just buying a color or is price what makes the decision? just a thought.. i bought a couple of bags of the Mr. Crappie Strike King tubes and couple of the same colors in the BPS brand to just compare if the fish bit one better than the other.

I buy different styles of plastics in the same color in my favorite go to colors. Price may influence a little bit on what I buy but I am usually more concerned on if they have the type or style I am looking for. As far as tubes go I don't think the brand makes a lot of difference. I will tell you that I buy ones that have heavy salt on them. They will out perform the plain ones anytime in my opinion.
I try different types & colors till I find something that works. Oh and some people on here swear by Bang spray scent.
    I will recommend black/chartruse; Purple/chartru;Blue/white;chartruse w/pepper.
Oh I almost forgot you better have some electric chicken on hand in case you meet up with Ole Silver Sides.

I personally only use Bobby Garland baits and Mid - South tubes. Its just what I prefer and everyone has there go to brands and color combos. If ya find something you like stick with it but don't be scared to try something new. I did buy some baits that Wally Marshall talked me into and will see if like. If the water ever thaws
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

I used to only consider cost, but now I just worry about quaility. I have used midsouth super jigs for years and still really like them but over the last few years have become a big fan of mikes custom crappie and walleye jigs. Yes you will pay more but they are a high quality bait and made between stockton lake and pomme and I like that local mojo working for me as I fish those two lakes the most. When you really do the math on how much your spending on your baits unless you get hung up a ton it doesn't really matter for the most part IMO. Certainley not when you are talking 20,000 plus for a nice boat and electronics and rods and reels. If it costs me a few bucks more a year to fish a quality local made product thats fine. With that said I wouldn't fish a bait unless I felt it gave me my best chance of catching a fish even if my mom made it. LOL

Lots of different brands out there and I think I have some of all of them in my boat. I use a lot of baits made by locals but also use Bobby Garland,, Mid South, Strike King and Southern Pro. Also did well with the new Charlie Brewer baits at the end of the 2013 season. I use a lot of tubes because cost is cheaper and I have confidence in them. But there are days the Bobby Garland Slab Slayers will load the boat. If you ever make it up to Clinton we carry all the Bobby Garland baits, Slab Busters, Muddy Water's, Strike King, Charlie Brewer, Yum, WOW Atta grubs, Bass Assassin, and every color that Southern Pro has. I am sure I forgot a few. Plus a few closeouts like Mid South and Lucky Strike. Pretty good selection and variety of styles, size and colors to chose from. I also plan on adding more lines like Lake Fork Tackle and others once I get rid of a few items that have not done well in the store in the past. I am quickly running out of room.

I was buying Chapman Creek tubes but can't find them anymore. I also love BG slab slayers.

I was looking for their site the other day to see what colors they offered and could not find it. They make a nice large tube. I believe KCMOSlayer use to use their baits.

Really like Bobby Garland. Will buy other brands sometimes but mostly stick to BG.
