I am with the everharts and tightwad c store votes.
Good selection of gear of all kinds and some good fishing info when you need it.
I always appreciate the info as I live quite a distance from Truman and it sure helps
Getting the latest updates on the fishing.

Oh yea, I forgot about Burton's also. I like that I can walk in, get good prices on products and get a little pre-fishing tip on where to go or what to do.

Everyone should know my favorite is Everhart's!!! But I also like to at least go in and buy a cold drink or candy bar from the small shops along the way when I fish different areas. Three that come to mind are Cozy Corner just before the Sparrowfoot ramp, the little shop just before the Berry Bend ramp and also the little shop at the top of the hill at the turn off to Tally Bend ramp. I don't usually need anything but if we don't support them they will not be there when we do need something such as gas or bait. When traveling I always like to hit little out of the way shops to see what they have. Can usually find something a little different than the normal items in them. Have found some great hand made jigs at shops like this all over the country.

Agree, I'd say most of my gear came from non-chain shops.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

Same for me and most of my stuff could not be bought at a "chain store". Lots of great local people making baits and jig heads that I use 90% of the time.

I just like going through Jared's stuff. The price is right and he has a great selection! If I can't get into his boat I hit the C-Store, Everharts, Trail Side (Berry Bend) and Tebo Creek Bait Stop in Leesville by Windsor Crossing.

You can meet some great people and find some great baits that way!
