WTG Mark!
Hooked up with Slabscab Thursday at LOZ and put in at Shawnee Bend and hit a couple of favorite spots with no bites. Worked our way up to buck creek area and started getting some on main point docks as Kyle said earlier. Did see shad balls out in the main cove areas so the best bet would have been pulling crankbaits. Shouldn't be too long before the crappie invade the docks. Drove to Truman and fish the Bucksaw area. Fishing was tough but if you stayed at it you could catch your limit. Caught some nice ones and lost some nice ones at the boat. Fish were in 8-14 feet of water, had to drop it too the bottom and raise it a couple of cranks. Tried holding it still like everyone say to do at truman but i alway give it that extra jiggle to get there attention. Friday and Saturday i used silver/chartruse tipped with a minnow. Sunday i fished for a couple of hours and didn't want to buy any minnows so i just used silver/chartruse and then also tried black/chartruse. I wasn't planning on cleaning any fish but they seem to hit better with out the minnows or more were moving in that morning. Weather was great and it only rained on friday night. Hooked up with the CDC tournament people and the dogs, brats and burgers that JR, Debbie and Green wing cooked. It was a great time to see all the big fish brought in and meet a lot of the crappie.com members. Here are a couple of pictures. The better pictures of the fish on the concrete is the ones from LOZ and the off color picture of the fish in the cleaning station is from Truman.
