I think thats more fish in one weekend then I have heard get caught all year congrats.
The crappie have finally decided to play at MTL. Louise and I fished timber along bluffs on the main lake in 40 feet of water, fish were 10 to 15 feet down. We caught 12 nice keepers smallest was 10 inches. Lots of dinks.Sunday we trolled with fishing guide Ray Kiel of Fish'n Podna on an area we would never have thought to fish. We put 18 nice keepers in the boat in half a day trolling cranks at about 6 to 8 feet deep. Learned a lot and had a nice day with Ray, who is very good at what he does.
All in all a pretty good weekend for post front conditions.

Sounds like a good trip. Good job
Sounds like an awesome weekend. First positive report I've read. Congrats
Hallelujah, its about time we have a good report from Mark Twain. Congrats on the nice fish.
Very true, LSL. Better days are ahead.
Forgot to mention the lake has been drawn down to about a foot above normal pool. It looks like the Corp is going to keep it close to normal pool ....as they are not pulling as much water everyday as they have been. Water is starting to clear up a bit also.

Just about fell out of my chair.......... good work!
We've been over at the lake the past three weekends, but working on the cabin since the lake has been such a mess. Glad to hear that they are finally getting into a "pattern".
'Ol Mr. Kiel knows a thing or two about pulling cranks, that's for sure. We see him quite a bit in those "areas" you are speaking of..... guessing you are talking about the lower end of the lake on the north side?

I won't say where we were trolling...the way I see it Ray has spent a lot of time, effort and money to put his customers on fish, so far be it for me to tell where we were. We'll use the techniques we learned from him but we'll never fish the areas he took us to.

Definitely agree! Glad ya caught em!
