    Default Table Rock Recommendations

Hello all! I'm taking the family to Table Rock for the weekend, and I'd like to get them on some fish if possible. We'll be staying at Indian Point Resort, so any suggestions on where to go or how deep to fish would be appreciated. Crappie are obviously my preferred fish, but I wouldn't mind getting into some white bass to keep the kids interested.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I was down at Table Rock a couple weeks ago, rented a boat from the State Park marina and they are all brand new Lund
boats, real nice boats especialy for a rental. Only fished 1 day with not much luck,I dont know the lake very well. One thing I did find out you can not buy minnows on the water, a guy told me at Indian Point marina that MDC came and pulled all of their pumps, I'm guessing its due to Zebra mussel or something to that order. So if you want minners you can buy at the bait shops,I got mine at the one in Kimberling City. Good luck, it's a beautiful lake.

Thanks for the info! We'll probably fish around the docks and some deeper cover. I'm used to Mark Twain lake, so we'll have to adjust our techniques a bit for the deeper water.

Its a beautiful lake, but hard to fish. Use light line floro. I use 6 no larger then 10#. You are in a good creek this time of year fish the points in 20 to 30 ft water. Crappie will be in brush in about 25 to 30 fow.Use minnows. Wish you all good fishing

Thanks cookieman! We're using 4 & 6 pound test line, so hopefully that helps. Now if I can just get the kids to fish patiently in 30 feet of water...

Minnows are a must. If you have electronics. Stop if you see a cluster of shad. Fish below them even if over deep water. Could be kentuckies, whites, crappie or little kitties. It is pot luck right now.

I bought minnows this week at Long Creek Marina (Bass Pro) and also at Cricket Creek Marina. Catching a few crappie slow trolling double minnow rigs around brush piles.

Thanks cookieman, Kit, & dc53! I'll be getting some minnows and worms, so that should get us in the ballpark. I like the idea of fishing off the dock, but I also think it would be cool to not know what we're gonna catch under a ball of shad. I'm gonna try to keep the kids in the action, so we'll see how that goes!

One last question - is there a strong morning/evening bite, or is it spread out through the day?

    Thanks!

Myself morning bite works for me. Did have an idea,if the kids get board put a couple bandit cranks 300 series on cast them out troll. Ihave good luck with chrome and black , chrome and blue and chartreuse. Just let them hold the rods cast um out about 30 yds. in 30 ft. of water. Troll 1.5 to 2mph. Just a though. Have fun either way!
