I may switch from truman to pomme then tomorrow. Do you mind if I ask how deep they are?
WE try to stabilize for the spawn, but mother nature and the Resevoir Control Center have the final say. Releases are up and down this week. 3500 CFS from about 6:00 p.m until about 6:00 a.m. when the MSHP arrive for their swift water training, when we cut it back to 2000 CFS for them. We are trying to get rid of the excess water but its going slowly, and seems like there is always more rain in the forecast. Good to hear a good report from Pomme, haven't heard much lately. Below the dam has been spotty to slow. Fished it yesterday morning from 0430 to about 0630 and caught 6 fish. Can't catch em if'n ya don't put some steel/lead in the water though.

New goal 16" crappie by December 30
Sounds like a good time to me. We will be down there camping the 1st weekend in June. Congrats on the catch.
"They call me The Crappie Menace."
Thanks for the reports on the catches and the water releases. Were you fishing upper part or main lake ?
Sorry...been away from the computer. I have been fishing the southern part of the lake (Bolivar Landing area) Fish have been around 2-3 ft deep using minnows. The bite has slowed considerably with another rain system moving through the last couple of days.
We saw you all Tuesday evening, looked like you were slaying them. We fished shallow for a little while, but my wife was having problems with the willow bushes, so we moved out to the beds. We had a lot of action, but 2/3's were small, but a good mess of females in the 9.5" to 12" range.
i have had lots of good years up by bolivar landing .have used the big motor to get off and on the trailer rest of it trolling motor get two or three limits and be gone in a hour .lots of fun that way .i only get to go on weekends and weather has not been to good this spring .good luck to all and good fishing ;(old jack)
Good to hear the report on the Bolivar landing area Goose. My wife wants me to take her this week so I'll take your report info and some minnows and maybe we can bring home a few. You got some nice size fish for that area.
I have not yet begun to procrastinate .....
Pomme Guy...that was us squatting on the bank! We had a few buddies join us that had been fishing the white water rapids below the dam. We were catching the same types of fish....several smalls and several between 9-11". There were five of us fishing and we had a decent bite most of the afternoon, but nothing like the previous three days. I was back pounding the bank again this evening (5/11/13) and I am still amazed at how much the water has gone down in the last two weeks and even the last two days. Not sure if it is having an effect on the bite or not, but the BIG (for Pomme) sows have been few and far between and the bite has definitely slowed from a week ago. The wind was a bear today and made fishing a little tough in the afternoon, but the action picked up as the sun went down and the wind settled.
