They'll find a way (most of them) to do their thing, it's just not going to be a typical spawn, which personally is what I like. There's always a certain percentage that will "dump" but if the lake doesn't go crazy, I think things will start this weekend.

As of right now it looks like a few of the rivers are running a tad, but nothing major, YET.

Also agree with Catman.......on Twain it's more about stability than it is water clarity. I'll fish in mud if things are settled a bit, ain't scared!

Thanks for the ideas. I'm with you about an unusual spawn. With the high brush being so difficult to fish the crappies have a better chance of survival than a spawn in normal pool.whetever that is at twain. Good fishing.

The problem is crappie and shad will spawn shallow and the corps will lower the lake.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the eggs to turn into fish big enough to survive falling water?

I would say a couple of days after hatching. Think I remember reading somewhere that they are stuck to the nest a few days after hatching then they can swim away.
