Default Not much of a bite today

Went out to Jerry Combs lake in SEMO and really had a terrible day. Caught 1 green sunfish lost what I think was a bass and fed a few turtles some chicken livers. I walked around most of the lake and saw a tremendous amount of trash left behind by bank fishermen. This does nothing but disgust me, it takes all of a few minutes to gather your waste and take it with you when you leave. I think there is a storm front moving this way tomorrow but I am gonna head out and fish for a little while before it gets here. If the bite is not good the first hour or so I am going to go around and pick the trash up that everyone leaves behind because one day my son or daughter might want to fish here in the future and if its not taken care of it will get out of hand.

Yes it is sad that some people are too lazy to pick up their trash. It makes areas look run down and that trash eventually winds up in the water. True sportsmen clean up after themselves. You Sir are one of those that take the next step to carry out more than you took in. Thanks for your report.

Same type of people that throw there trash out of their vehicle while driving down the road. It is disgusting. Our local conservation lake is high & muddy with not much going on.

well you got out and gave it a shot at least...it can only improve from here! good plan on the trash, if everyone spent a few minutes policing trash each trip, we might get it whipped some day!!!

Hope you get into the fish! A BIG thank you for the cleanup. If all the good people would have the same attitude, we could help keep our communties clean from all the trash left behind by all the trashy people. Again thanks!!

Well I just got back, didn't get into the fish I think that cold front we had over the weekend pushed them back out in the middle of the lake. It was pretty good last week because the males were in the shallows on the beds. I got a little bit of trash picked up today but due to the 20mph winds I was fighting a losing battle. I think I am going to speak to the conservation officer next time I see him and check on getting a few more trash cans placed around the popular bank fishing areas. Has anyone else that frequents this board ever fished down here? Oh well the weather will straighten up eventually and I will get back to catching those crappies and gills.
